Dear Lord Jesus,
When I look at other people’s houses from the outside,
I imagine they are all enjoying days of coziness and companionship.
Forgive me, Lord,  but I envy those people who have a tranquil home.
As day after day, I ‘shelter in place’ in my house,

Dear Mother Mary, with this virus going around
I ask you to pray to Jesus for my grandchildren.
How I would love to make the world safe for them.
But deep down I know that is impossible and yet I wish I could.
Nonetheless, I pray that I may be able to pass on to them

What do we recall these holy days but the life-giving love and compassion of one person who changed the world by teaching mankind that  justice is more powerful than revenge, that compassion is greater than condemnation, that  believing in goodness and truth to overcome evil is a power that can change the world.

Each year, the celebration of Holy Week and Easter has a unique significance. We are people with rational intelligence. Everyone is important and equal in dignity and rights and we have to respect all and give help and support so more will be saved.

St. Columban of Mt. Leinster, Bangor, Luxeuil, Bregenz and Bobbio,
your name rings out across the world.
Come to our aid and rise up to help us in our need.
As pilgrims on the journey,
we ask you to keep us safe from
the coronavirus that knows no borders.

Dear Jesus,
Like the apostles who were in a boat on that stormy Sea of Galilee,
we are feeling alone, uncertain, tired and afraid.
Do not let waves of dread swamp us.
Do not let the howling wind of bad news drown out your voice.
