It was in 2015 that Pope Francis wrote his most important Encyclical ''Laudate Si'' on ecology and climate. It was a call to the world to care for our planet Earth which is in danger of destruction because of climate change which Pope Francis described as a ''global problem with great implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods.''
Years later, despite much good work, there are still political leaders who are denying the need to act against climate change. Let us join with Saint Francis of Assisi praising God for the beautiful world he has given us. Today we will contemplate nature in awe.
''Praise be you, my Lord, through our Sister Mother Earth who sustains and governs us and who produces various fruit with colored flowers and herbs.'' (Canticle of the Creatures. St Francis)
How can we not protect all the good things that God has given us?
