Heavenly Father, like John the Baptist,
we pray that Christ may increase and we may decrease.
Help us to find our joy not in our own accomplishments
or the praise of others, but in the voice of the Bridegroom.
May we be faithful witnesses to the Light,
pointing others away from ourselves and toward the Lamb of God
who takes away the sins of the world.
Amen.
