Merciful Father, You filled St. Alphonsus
with a heart devoted to Your compassion and truth.
Teach us never to despair of Your forgiveness,
but to approach You with humble confidence
whenever we fall.
May Your grace strengthen our desire to love
what is good and reject whatever separates us from You.
Help us become patient with others
as You are endlessly patient with us.
