St. James, you left everything to follow Jesus
and ultimately gave your life as a witness to him.
Pray for me, that I may follow Christ with the same readiness,
even when it costs me comfort or security.
Lord, give me courage to answer Your call, trusting that
You are worth far more than anything I might leave behind.
May I follow faithfully all the way to the end.
